Questions Regarding Meal Plan?
Can I share my meal plan with another student and/or buy food for others?
No. Meal plans are designed for use by a single person. Guests to campus or students without a meal plan may purchase meals or other items as desired using cash or credit card at one of the registers.
How are Dining Dollars different from Penmen Cash?
Dining Dollars: Students with a Membership Meal Plan have a certain amount of Dining Dollars included with their plan. Dining Dollars are used for items not included in the “all you care to eat” model such as bottled beverages and pre-packaged snacks available in the grab-and-go retail locations. Dining Dollars cannot be replenished. Students should use Penmen Cash if they need additional funds.
Penmen Cash: Penmen Cash is a reloadable account available for all SNHU students, faculty, and staff. For dining purposes, Penmen Cash is usually used by individuals without a meal plan or for retail items if Dining Dollars run out. Penmen Cash can be used to purchase anything in any SNHU Dining location and the SNHU Bookstore. Additional funds can be added using the GET App
Will I still have Penman Cash? How will it work?
Yes. Penmen Cash may be added through the GET app if students run out of Dining Dollars. Penmen Cash is also accepted at the campus bookstore.
I'm a commuter but I'm on campus a lot - can I buy the $2,000 membership meal plan?
Yes, commuter students also have the option to purchase the Resident Membership Meal Plan if they anticipate being on campus for longer periods of time. Anyone can also use cash or credit to purchase meals or food from any of the campus dining sites.
What happens to the meals and dining dollars that I have left at the end of the semester?
Dining Dollars roll over between the Fall & Spring semester. However, any meal blocks not used prior to the end of the semester will be forfeited.
- All students living in campus housing are required to purchase a resident membership meal plan each semester.
- Commuter students may purchase a resident meal plan or one of the 4 new commuter meal plans.
- Please note that cash, credit, Dining Dollars and Penman Cash will be also accepted at all locations.
Please contact Celine Dejesus at cdejesus@afvusa.com with any questions about the commuter membership meal plans. For questions about your bill, resident meal plans, or purchasing a new meal plan, you can always contact Student Financial Services at sfscampus@snhu.edu.
